Recently my organization has been contracted to provide stress reduction workshop to a community that is experiencing an alarming increase in their suicide rate. As a result of high unemployment, disruption of family structure and health and education services at risk for budget cuts many communities are feeling hopeless and helpless. Research has already shown a definite link between nutrition, exercise and your prostate health. The foods we consume are in excess of carbohydrates, simple sugars, and fats in which we store as body fat waiting for a rainy day like starvation. The excess fat we store especially around the midsection is associated with a type of prostate cancer that behaves very aggressively. Other causes of prostate cancer include the presence of free radicals and chemical carcinogens that cause cancer. (more…)
